Inside the heart of everyman
There is a boy wanting to come out and play
As I watched the video link below
I was reminded of a struggle I have
The struggle to really enjoy life
The ability to laugh
That deep shaking belly laugh
Oh I have killed a lot of time
And I have at times not been responsible
I have loafed too much
But it has been hard for me to play
To simply enjoy the world
The one my loving Father has given me
To pause and pet a dog
To really smell the roses
Then engage the gardener to tell me more about them
To simply be and do without wondering
What they might think
It has been a slow growth
I think of a few milestones
Murray Cunningham, Billy Harris, myself and Doug Bates
Took a day and went to see the Atlanta Braves
Oh the reason was Doug was not well
And he wanted to eat at the Varsity
What a blast we all had
Lately Wayne has allowed me to hangout
As he goes someplace for no real reason
Do you ever take a day off
Go to a quiet place
And just enjoy the silence
Do you fish or hunt with some buddies
Ever play poker or spoons
Have a water fight with the grand kids
Slow down to a child’s pace
It will give you a better view of the world
It will let you see yourself better
And in your heart
You’ll be allowing that little boy
To come out and play
Yell sometime and maybe we can hang out
If not my friend Jesus is available 24/7
I don’t have a clue about girls, women at least some I know seem much more free to enjoy being a tad silly
